Caramelized Onions

Great on top of steak, chicken or pork or added to a quiche.

Large onion
3 tablespoons
butter
1/8 cup sugar  

Slice onions in thin rings.  Add to skillet with butter and sugar.  Cook on the stovetop at medium heat.  Occasionally stir until light caramel color.

Baked Onions

Serve as a sidedish with steak or beef.

Butter 
1 cup of beef stock

Slice onions and core with an apple corer.  Place onions flat in a microwave baking dish.  Fill the center with 1/2 teaspoon with 1 tablespoon of butter.  Pour beef stock over onions. Microwave for 1 minute per onion half stopping half wat though to bast the onions.
